“After years of exercising on and off and trying every sort of exercise like running marathons / pilates / kick boxing / pole dancing / bootcamp, etc. and not to mention buying every type of workout gadget, I finally found something that worked…Jon-Erik Kawamoto!

Thanks for stopping by and checking out JKConditioning. My name is Jon-Erik Kawamoto and I help people and athletes become fitter, healthier, stronger and more awesome. I design individual specific exercise programs and teach you the ins and outs of working out so that you can actually achieve results and crush your health and fitness goals.

Did you know that exercising is a science and effective programming for certain goals plays a hyoooge role in your progress? Not having effective programming and hoping to reach your goals is like throwing all your ingredients in the air and hoping they land on your plate in the form of a sandwich. It’s just not gonna happen.

“I’ve been training with Jon since July 2011 intermittently but in December started a regular training schedule with him. Jon is an expert in his field and I have benefitted from his workout sessions and his advice on what foods to eat. I would have never been able to do the workout sessions I normally do today, a year ago – I’ve learned so many new exercises by training with Jon. This has made the training sessions interesting and has produced results! I added 100lbs to my squat, 100lbs to my bench press, almost deadlifted 300lbs and can do 15 chin ups in a row (before only 6). I feel great and much stronger and leaner – thanks again Jon.”

Vancouver Sun Run 2007My sporting background primarily consists of track and field, cross-country running and road racing. I competed for over 9 years at both the club and varsity levels. I have personal bests of 15:13 and 32:15 in the 5km and 10km road races, respectively.

With my running experience and passion for strength training, I have developed specialized training methods that help make runners more resilient, stronger and more powerful with the underlying goal of running faster race times. I’ve worked with runners of all levels, from beginners to elites and everyone in between.

Currently, I am working with Canadian Olympian steeplechaser Alex Genest and the newly formed British Columbia Endurance Project, a group composed of the best distance runners in Canada, led by coach Richard Lee.  Since my racing days in 2007, Mizuno continues to supply me with training gear and runners as part of their Brand Ambassador Program. The new Mizuno minimalist shoes rock by the way :)

steph denk 2plate“Jon was my trainer here in Vancouver, before moving across the country to pursue his masters. I knew the chances of me finding another trainer as talented, professional and dedicated as he is were slim. So I decided to “settle” for online training with Jon.

He completely exceeded all of my expectations in every single aspect – its almost as if he never left! For example, I recently developed a significant amount of shoulder tenderness, during and outside of lifting; Jon said, “No problem, we’ll work around it.” My new program is more challenging than ever, and the best part about it is that there’s no shoulder pain. I was seriously concerned that I would have to stop training, but Jon made it happen, with an even more challenging and dynamic workout! He is always available to answer questions, provide supplementary pictures and videos, or explain something in a different way in case I don’t understand a concept. Jon’s style of online training is someone that is professional, scientific, and dedicated to maximizing your results!”
