Julia Howard, RHN, MPH is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, Run Coach, and Marketing Communications Strategist at JKConditioning.

A former National Team member in the sport of Track and Field and former varsity athlete, Julia’s approach to nutrition comes from her desire to fuel for high performance and digestive health as well as to achieve a balanced, uncomplicated approach to overall health and wellness.

Julia received her Masters of Public Health in population health in 2013 from Simon Fraser University and then went on to pursue studies in holistic nutrition at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition.

In 2018, she became certified as a Distance Coach through the Vdot O2 Distance Coach certification course designed by well-respected physiologist and coach, Dr. Jack Daniels. Through applying the principles from this program, Julia can bring her own experience as well as a science-based approach to coaching to help avoid overtraining and prevent injury.

She also supports JKConditioning’s marketing strategy across all channels.

Athletic Background

Julia’s athletic background spans two decades of competitive running from 400 metres up to 10 miles and she plans to continue training towards the longer road running distances as a master athlete.

She represented Canada at the 2001 Junior Pan Am Games, 2004 (U23) North American, Central American and Caribbean Championships, and the 2005, 2007, 2009 World Student Games.

She also finished 4th in the 800 metres at the Canadian Olympic Trials in 2004 and 2008 and 5th in the 1500 metres in 2012. In 2019, she was inducted into the Simon Fraser University Athletic Hall of Fame for her achievements as a varsity athlete.
